Sunrise Landing- Alberta’s Cream Cheese Spread

Alberta's Cream Cheese Spread Recipe contributed by Sally Sessler (Bob's sister), original recipe from "Heloise" 8 oz. cream cheese softened 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 cup chopped or sliced green (salad) olives 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1-2 tbsp. olive liquid if needed Mix and let stand overnight in fridge. Let warm up a little before serving with crackers or bread.

Poached Pears in Chambord

This is a favorite breakfast starter at Sunrise Landing, but works as a light dessert, as well. 4 large pears, peeled, cut in half and cored 4 tablespoons brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 2 tablespoons Chambord (raspberry liquor) 4 tablespoons white wine 2 tablespoons blueberries 2 tablespoons raspberries cheddar, bleu, or feta cheese. Place the pears cored side up in glass baking dish. Mix sugar, cinnamon, Chambord and wine and pour over the pears. Divide berries among pears. Cover and microwave on high for 10 minutes (adjust time depending on how ripe the pears are - the harder the pears, the longer they will need to be cooked). Serve ...

Fudge Sauce

This recipe was given to me by our daughter, Linda Deuell. It has become a favorite at Sunrise Landing Recipe. Ingredients: 5 Squares unsweetened chocolate (I use Ghirardelli - and you can use part semi-sweet if you like your sauce sweeter) 1/2 cup butter 1 can evaporated milk 3 cups confectioner's sugar 1 1/4 teaspoon vanilla Melt chocolate and butter - remove from heat. Add sugar and milk alternately. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir approximately three minutes till thick and creamy. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Serve warm

Sunrise Landing Date Nut Bread Recipe

Date Nut Bread This recipe is an original family favorite. It was given to Barb by Bob's Aunt Kate (Easter) when Bob and Barb were first married. It is a regular at all of the households in the Schiesser extended family at Christmas. It can be made without nuts for those who have nut allergies, and it is still rich and delicious. Guests at Sunrise Landing B & B love it! Preheat oven to 350 1½ cups boiling water 1 cup chopped dates 1 egg beaten 1 ½ cups granulated sugar 2 ¼ cups sifted flour ¼ teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon salt 1 cup chopped walnuts 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 tablespoon melted shortening or oil 1 teaspoon ...
